A degree with honours from a United Kingdom higher education institution (or equivalent qualification).
Candidates with qualifications gained outside the UK are required to prove that they are equivalent to UK qualifications. Please contact NARIC to request advice regarding proof of equivalency. There may be a charge for this service.
GCSEs in English, mathematics and science (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C or above. (For GCSEs awarded from 2017 onwards this equates to a grade 4 or above under the revised numerical grading system.)
If you do not have the required GCSE grades, it is possible to take equivalency tests in English, maths and science.

That they have met the Secretary of State’s requirements for physical and mental fitness to teach
That they have never been excluded from teaching or working with children
That they declare any criminal background which might prevent employment as a teacher or working with children or young people.
