Partnership Schools
An effective management structure, which includes all members of the partnership was recognised by Ofsted as a key strength of the SCITT. The schools in the partnership serve diverse communities including areas of high deprivation, rural, urban and suburban catchments. There are a mix of CofE, Catholic, and non denominational schools. Although the local areas have relatively small numbers of children from ethnically diverse backgrounds all our schools have a strong record of inclusive practice and include Traveller's children and growing numbers of children from migrant workers. A distinctive feature of our partnership schools is their commitment to providing high quality provision, reflected by nationally recognised awards and inspection. Over 40% of our partner schools have been judged as outstanding by Ofsted. 50% of our schools have been members of the SCITT since its inception.

Schools value taking an active part in the SCITT learning community. They benefit from:

Quotes from Headteachers
"I have appointed several members of staff who have trained with the South Coast SCITT. They have demonstrated a real undertanding of the Early Years and Key Stage 1 curriculum and have applied this to their planning and delivery of the curriculum. I have found South Coast SCITT trainees to be reflective practitioners who strive to become outstanding teachers. They are committed to the development of their teaching and to supporting whole school improvement".
Mrs Boynton - Highcliffe St. Mark Primary School

"From the first day to the last, staff have been impressed with the energy and enthusiasm that South Coast SCITT students bring to the children's learning and classroom environment. Students thinking of applying to this intensive but rewarding course need to be proactive rather than reactive and be good communicators able to enter in professional dialogue and a professional work place commitment and purpose".
Mr Calvert - Burton Primary School

At Bransgore Primary School, we have employed six NQTs from South Coast SCITT, over a period of ten years. From this group, one is now my KS1 Leader, one became a Leading Art Teacher for Hampshire whilst others lead exciting new initiatives such as International Links with other schools.
I value employing South Coast SCITT trainees because of their thorough knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching, and how schools work. All these SCITT teachers have had a major contribution to my school’s outstanding status.
Mr. Pretlove - Bransgore Primary School
