Finance England. Trainees currently receive the £4,000 Trainee Teacher’s bursary,
(there are some exceptions for overseas students, etc.- if in
doubt, contact us with your queries).
You may also be eligible for a maintenance grant.
Maintenance Grant
Currently students from lower income households will be eligible
to receive a Maintenance Grant. The actual amount you will entitled
to receive will depend upon your household income. This grant
will be paid in three instalments, one at the start of each term,
just like your student loan. Additionally, you will be able to
apply for a student loan if you so wish by contacting Student
Finance England.
If you are funded via Student Fiunance England a deposit of £1100
is required on day one of the course by the student, and is then
refunded back to the student in two equal instalments of £550
in February and May 2011.
Course fees for 2011-12 will be confimed in due course.
The SCITT will also offer limited bursaries of up to £200 to
provide additional fee remission and support with travel or dependent
costs. Details of this are in our Access
Agreement .
If appropriate, you will also be able to apply to your local Council
for a reduction in Council Tax.
