For detailed information on student finance entitlements please visit Student Finance England.

Trainees currently receive the £4,000 Trainee Teacher’s bursary, (there are some exceptions for overseas students, etc.- if in doubt, contact us with your queries).

You may also be eligible for a maintenance grant.

Maintenance Grant
Currently students from lower income households will be eligible to receive a Maintenance Grant. The actual amount you will entitled to receive will depend upon your household income. This grant will be paid in three instalments, one at the start of each term, just like your student loan. Additionally, you will be able to apply for a student loan if you so wish by contacting Student Finance England.

If you are funded via Student Fiunance England a deposit of £1100 is required on day one of the course by the student, and is then refunded back to the student in two equal instalments of £550 in February and May 2011.

Course fees for 2011-12 will be confimed in due course.

The SCITT will also offer limited bursaries of up to £200 to provide additional fee remission and support with travel or dependent costs. Details of this are in our Access Agreement .
If appropriate, you will also be able to apply to your local Council for a reduction in Council Tax.
