South Coast SCITT

This is a one year full-time course for people wishing to qualify as teachers in Primary Schools.

The course is run by a group of local primary schools situated in Bournemouth, Dorset, Hampshire and Poole, and is directly validated for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the Training & Development Agency for Schools (TDA).

The programme offers Trainees the opportunity to gain Masters Level credits for a Post Graduate Certificate of Education validated by the University of Bedfordshire.

Our aim is to enable trainee teachers to become outstanding learning centred teachers. On successful completion of the programme Trainees will:

Have met the Qualified to Teach Standards demonstrating their ability to teach and to positively impact on children's capacity to learn and progress.
Have successfully completed two 30 credit Masters level units demonstrating their understanding and application of Reflective Practice and Practitioner Research.
