The course is run by a group of local primary schools situated in Bournemouth, Dorset, Hampshire and Poole, and is directly validated for the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the Training & Development Agency for Schools (TDA).

The programme offers Trainees the opportunity to gain Masters Level credits for a Post Graduate Certificate of Education or Professional Certificate of Education, both awards are validated by the University of Bedfordshire. Trainees will learn to plan, teach, prepare, assess, monitor, record, and report on childrens learning. They will learn what it means to be professionally qualified.
